Harry and Meghan visit Titanic Belfast

Harcourt were honoured to welcome Prince Harry and his fiancee Miss Meghan Markle to Titanic Belfast on their first official engagement to Northern Ireland.

The couple visited Titanic Belfast on 23rd March, where staff, locals and visitors from across the globe caught a glimpse of the couple ahead of their wedding in May.

Prince Harry and Ms. Markle were greeted by our Chief Executive Judith Owens, with Lleyton (aged 6) and Rosie Jackson (aged 4) from Ballygowan who presented the couple with some special gifts to remember their visit.

As the couple took a tour of the Titanic Experience they looked out over the historic slipways, heard about the excitement of Titanic’s Launch Day and learnt about the regeneration of Titanic Quarter, as well as enjoyed a 3D virtual tour and cabin recreations illustrating the ship’s opulent interior.

Prince Harry said the shipyard ride was 'cool' and was visibly impressed by the building. The couple join over 4.8 million visitors, including Her Majesty the Queen, who have visited our world-leading tourist attraction.

Judith Owens, Titanic Belfast’s Chief Executive, said, “From her origins as a Royal Mail Steamship, ‘RMS Titanic’ has always had a royal connection, and as such, we are absolutely delighted to welcome Prince Harry and Ms. Megan Markle on their first official visit to Northern Ireland.

“At Titanic Belfast, we celebrate Belfast’s maritime heritage by telling the story of how the world’s most famous ship was built, designed and launched in this city, but we also share the personal stories connected with it. It was a privilege to share this with Prince Harry and Ms Markle, especially given the American connections to the ship.”
